Hello. I am Shannon Anderson Finch. For over 20 years, I have guided global leaders through complex change across enterprise, non-profit, and higher education—anchored in 15 years scaling talent and culture at Google and Deloitte. Now, I partner with senior leaders and organizations to navigate critical transitions, draw a new map, and drive extraordinary results.
As a leader, you’re facing something that demands something different from you — a new role, a new location, a new team, a new mandate. Around you, the world and your organization are changing fast. You’re trying to figure out how to keep up and show up. Changes are compounding at work and in life, leaving little time or space to process or plan. You’re having a hard time finding your footing.
This neither-here-nor-there state is called liminality by anthropologists. It’s a betwixt-and-between place, where an old self or situation lingers, but the new one hasn’t fully formed. This is the messy middle.
This space can be deeply uncomfortable. Most leaders and teams try to avoid it, misinterpreting friction as falling behind or even as failure. But it’s not. It’s exactly where profound transformation takes place.

Offsites that end in a group photo, good feelings, and zero follow-through are an expensive party. I design intentional gatherings for teams and organizations that drive hard choices, create deep alignment, and turn a room's energy into outcomes that outlast the day.

About
I work with the founders and the finders, those who make things and those who make things happen, the adventurers and the explorers, and those who navigate many worlds. I am one of these people. Academia to consulting to industry. Germany, India, Singapore, and all three US coasts. First in my family to go to college. Employee to entrepreneur. A life built in zigs and zags, not straight lines.
Before founding Anderson Finch, I led global talent priorities at Google to advance our Grow, Belong, Perform people strategy, including enterprise onboarding, welcoming tens of thousands of new hires each year. Before that, I advised Fortune 100 leaders on moving, managing, and growing global talent at Deloitte for nearly a decade, and was named Coach of the Year.
I hold a PhD in Linguistics from The University of Texas at Austin, a BA in Anthropology from Middlebury College, and am a National Science Foundation Fellow. I also have certifications from Hudson Institute of Coaching, International Coaching Federation, European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and Hogan Assessments.
I currently live in Austin, Texas, with my husband, son, and dogter — and I never miss a chance to travel, learn a language, or enjoy good food and wine.
